Crysora Care Guide

How to Care for Your Jewellery, Gemstone Gifts & Keepsakes

Crysora pieces are made to be worn, gifted, displayed and cherished. With simple daily care, your jewellery, keyrings, ornaments and keepsakes can stay beautiful for longer.

The Golden Care Rule

Keep your Crysora pieces away from moisture, perfume, lotions, harsh chemicals, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water and rough surfaces. After wearing, gently wipe jewellery with a soft dry cloth before storing it.

A little care after each wear is better than heavy cleaning later.

Wear With Care

Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, gardening, cleaning or applying perfume and skincare.

Clean Gently

Use a soft dry cloth for routine care. For suitable pieces, use lukewarm water with mild soap, then dry completely.

Store Separately

Store pieces separately in a pouch, jewellery box or soft-lined container to help prevent scratching and tangling.

Daily Jewellery Care

Before Wearing

Put jewellery on last, after perfume, hairspray, moisturiser, sunscreen and makeup have dried. This helps reduce residue, dullness and surface build-up.

After Wearing

Wipe your jewellery gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. This removes skin oils, dust and product residue before storage.

When Not to Wear Jewellery

Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, exercising, sleeping, cleaning, cooking, gardening, heavy lifting or handling chemicals. Chlorine, salt water, sweat and cleaning agents can affect metals, finishes, stones, cords and plating.

How to Clean Your Crysora Jewellery

Simple Dry Cleaning

For most Crysora pieces, the safest regular cleaning method is a gentle wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Light Soap Cleaning

For suitable metal and durable gemstone jewellery, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap. Gently clean with your fingers or a very soft cloth, rinse carefully and dry completely before storing.

Avoid Harsh Cleaning Methods

Do not use toothpaste, bleach, alcohol, ammonia, acetone, abrasive powders, rough brushes or strong jewellery dips unless the product instructions clearly state they are safe for that exact material.

Avoid Ultrasonic and Steam Cleaning Unless Confirmed Safe

Some durable gemstones can tolerate professional cleaning methods, but others cannot. Pearls should not be cleaned with ultrasonic or steam cleaners, and emeralds can be risky because many are fracture-filled. If unsure, use a soft cloth and contact us before cleaning.

Care by Material

Gold Jewellery

Wipe gold jewellery after wearing and store it separately to reduce scratches. Avoid chlorine, harsh chemicals and abrasive cloths. If the piece includes gemstones or plating, clean gently and avoid soaking unless the product details confirm it is suitable.

Silver Jewellery

Silver may naturally tarnish over time when exposed to air, moisture, skin oils and chemicals. Store silver jewellery in a dry place, preferably in a pouch or sealed jewellery bag. Wipe with a soft polishing cloth when needed.

Gold-Tone or Plated Pieces

Plated and gold-tone pieces need extra care. Avoid water, perfume, lotions and friction. Do not scrub plated surfaces. Wipe gently and store separately to help preserve the finish.

Gemstone Jewellery

Gemstones vary in durability. Some stones are suitable for regular wear, while others are more delicate. Avoid hard knocks, sudden temperature changes and harsh cleaners. For unknown gemstone types, use only a soft dry cloth.

Sapphire and Ruby Pieces

Sapphires and rubies are durable gemstones. Warm soapy water is generally safe for sapphire and ruby care, but filled, dyed or specially treated stones need more caution and should only be wiped gently with a damp cloth.

Emerald-Inspired or Emerald Jewellery

Emeralds require gentle care. Many natural emeralds contain filled fractures, so ultrasonic and steam cleaning can be risky. Use lukewarm water, mild soap and gentle cleaning only, then dry carefully.

Pearls and Soft Gem Materials

Pearls are delicate and should be kept away from perfume, hairspray, cosmetics and harsh chemicals. Wipe pearls with a very soft clean cloth after wearing and store them in a soft pouch or case. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaning on pearls.

Care for Keyrings, Ornaments & Keepsakes

Gemstone Keyrings

Keyrings are handled often, so they may naturally show signs of wear over time. Avoid dropping them on hard surfaces, exposing them to water, or storing them with sharp metal objects that may scratch the surface.

Home Ornaments

Keep ornaments on a stable surface away from edges, moisture, direct sunlight and high heat. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and cleaning chemicals.

Crystal and Decorative Pieces

Some crystal and decorative pieces can chip, scratch or crack if dropped. Handle with care and avoid sudden temperature changes. Clean only with a soft dry cloth unless product-specific instructions say otherwise.

Gift Packaging

Store gift boxes, pouches and cards away from moisture, perfume and direct sunlight. Keeping packaging clean and dry helps preserve the full gift-ready presentation.

Frequently Asked Care Questions

Can I wear Crysora jewellery every day?

Many pieces are suitable for regular wear, but all jewellery lasts longer when treated gently. Remove your jewellery before water, exercise, sleep and cleaning.

Can I shower with my jewellery?

We recommend removing jewellery before showering. Soap, shampoo, chlorine, minerals and moisture can dull finishes, affect plating and leave residue.

Why is my silver jewellery changing colour?

Silver can naturally tarnish when exposed to air, moisture, skin oils and chemicals. This is normal and can often be reduced with careful storage and gentle polishing.

Can I clean all gemstones the same way?

No. Gemstones vary in hardness, toughness, treatments and sensitivity. If you are unsure what material your piece contains, use only a soft dry cloth and contact us for advice.

Can I use jewellery cleaning liquid?

Only use cleaning liquid if it is clearly safe for every material in your piece. Many cleaners are not suitable for pearls, plated items, soft stones, glued settings or delicate decorative pieces.

How should I store my jewellery while travelling?

Use a soft travel pouch or jewellery case with separate compartments. Keep chains clasped to reduce tangling, and avoid placing jewellery loose in handbags or luggage.
